  • Habitat: It can grow either in full sun or partial shade. It has a great drought-tolerance and can be found in hot climates. 
  • Nativity: Southern Africa, Mozambique
  • Special notes: Freesia has a very complicated and confusing history with variety of wrong names. There is no record of how it spread, but it first appeared in the English nursery trade in 1878 and quickly spread to Europe and North America.
